The American Association of Orthodontists, better known as the AAO, recommends that your child sees an orthodontist by the age of 7.
Why is 7 the magic number?
By this age, the first molars have broken through, and orthodontists are able to see any developmental issues. They do this by studying the tooth relationship in your child’s mouth. Early braces treatment may help your child avoid more invasive issues later in life.
What are the results of waiting?
The longer your child’s teeth are left without proper treatment, the more damage is done. Treatments may become longer and more costly, as well.
