What is a Diastema?
A diastema is a gap between the front teeth. It is not harmful, and it appears in children and adults. Some people consider a diastema a sign of beauty and attractiveness. It can also be trendy or a distinctive part of a signature/famous smile.
Treatment is not usually necessary for medical reasons. But if a person dislikes the appearance of their diastema, it is possible to close or narrow the gap.
If you have a space between your teeth, or your child has one, schedule a consultation with Dr. Church. He will be able to help determine the cause of the gap and if treatment is indicated to help correct it.
